Football

Football is a team sport played between two teams of eleven players each. The objective of the game is to score goals by getting a spherical ball into the opposing team’s net using any part of the body except the hands and arms, with the exception of the goalkeepers, who are allowed to use their hands within a designated area.

The game is played on a rectangular field, known as a pitch, which is typically grass or artificial turf, and is bounded by a goal at each end. The game is governed by a set of rules known as the Laws of the Game, which are maintained by the International Football Association Board (IFAB).

Football is known for its global popularity, with billions of fans and players across diverse cultures. It encompasses various forms, including association football (commonly referred to as soccer in certain countries) and variations like futsal and beach soccer. The sport is played at amateur and professional levels, with major tournaments including the FIFA World Cup and continental championships showcasing the best teams in the world. Football emphasizes teamwork, skill, and strategy, making it a highly dynamic and engaging sport.
