Olympics

The Olympics, officially known as the Olympic Games, is a major international multi-sport event held every four years, featuring thousands of athletes from around the world competing in various sports. The event is organized by the International Olympic Committee (IOC) and includes both Summer and Winter Games, which alternate every two years. The Olympics originated in ancient Greece, where they were held in Olympia to honor the deity Zeus. The modern Olympic Games were revived in the late 19th century by Pierre de Coubertin and have since evolved to include a wide array of sports, cultural programs, and ceremonies, symbolizing unity, competition, and sportsmanship on a global scale. The Olympic symbol, consisting of five interlocking rings, represents the five continents and the unity of nations through sport.
